The one part of the National Anthem that always makes me cringe no matter how many times I hear it.

Land of the free.

As a black man in this country, the FREE part wasnt always true and even now it feels like we arent truly free and definitely not treated as equals.

So, when it comes to freedom, be it freedom of choice, freedom of speech or in this case free agency, I find it preposterous to criticize someone for simply doing something that makes them happy.

But, here we are with Kevin Durant.

People have a tendency to use this phrase a lot.

Well.I would never

Two things about that, first what YOU would do has nothing to do with what I or anyone else would do. Secondly, unless you are in the situation which 99% will never be, you have no idea what you would do.

It general people dont like to be told what to do, but they have no problem telling others what they should do.

One of the biggest problems in our society is that many people are puppets and will do things to appease others more than themselves. Immediately they regret it, because when you live for others validation how could you ever truly be happy?

Kevin Durant finished his contractual obligation to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was FREE to go to whatever team he wanted. It doesnt matter why he did it, because he was FREE to make that choice.

It isnt about what YOU would do or what another player would have done, it is about respecting the freedom the same way you would want your choices respected.

That is where the hypocrisy lies.
